You’re no doubt completely and fully aware that Anthony Vaccarello likes himself some Juergen Teller as Saint Laurent campaign photographer. Vaccarello has called upon the famed German photographer to lens the historic French fashion house’s campaign imagery on umpteen occasions throughout his tenure as creative director. More recently, Teller photographed Chloë Sevigny for the Fall 2024 campaign offering. For the Saint Laurent Winter 2024 installment, Juergen Teller is back to capture a handful of Vaccarello’s muses. Those muses include Kate Moss, Charlotte Rampling, Ajus Samuel, Anja Rubik, Binx Walton, Awar Odhiang, and Penelope Ternes. The ladies pose within the surroundings of a stylish Art Deco Parisian brasserie in looks from Vaccarello’s chic Saint Laurent collection unveiled in February during Paris Fashion Week.

We have been living for Juergen Teller shooting the advertising campaigns for Saint Laurent ever since the famed German photographer was commissioned back in 2019 by the legendary French fashion house. The ads have transported us to idyllic locations like Lake Como and the rugged landscape of Iceland. Now Saint Laurent’s Summer 2022 outing whisks us away to Los Angeles. Freja Beha Erichsen, Awar Odhiang, Binx Walton, Loli Bahia and Bethany Nagy become the faces of the season’s chic and high-octane collection posing in front of flashy cars and around a motel.

Once again, a Saint Laurent campaign absolutely enthralled our forum members. “I love it!” exclaimed Urban Stylin.

“I love the colors and the photos against the cars,” wrote guimon.

“I want to be those women,” confessed matheus_s.

“I’ve become a fast fan of this and very much appreciate the warmth of Juergen Teller’s photography here and shooting the campaign on location in Los Angeles was a good move. The focus is very much on the clothes, which I appreciate also and the casting is terrific. Glorious!” raved vogue28.

“Freja Beha Erichsen looks so effortlessly cool. She’s not a typical match for recent Saint Laurent I think, but when she shows up it’s killer!” noted annikad.

The publication has a knack for dropping buzzworthy covers starring Kate Moss, Teyana Taylor, Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Billie Eilish and Kim Kardashian. There’s always something for everyone and the fashion title’s Spring 2022 edition is no different. Rosalía’s cover soon became the topic of conversation. “That’s a stunning cover!” declared mikel.

“The best of the bunch is Rosalía’s cover, purely because I’m reminded of Nick Knight’s early work for British Vogue with the photography. I love the colors, I like the styling and Rosalía’s pose. I’m also very surprised at Kendall Jenner’s cover…” voiced vogue28.

“I like Binx Walton’s because it’s a classic i-D cover,” added ivano.

“Happy to see HoYeon Jung. Love her cover! I also love Hunter Schafer, but her cover is probably my least favorite. They could have done so much more with her, what a waste,” said guimon.

Over the last two years, covers featuring Gigi Hadid, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bündchen, Cindy Crawford and Precious Lee sent us head over heels. Now the Brazilian fashion bible’s answer to Vogue’s shared theme of new beginnings has us dancing for joy. The creative twosome join forces once again with Binx Walton for September 2021 to deliver a pair of dynamic and dramatic covers. Binx wears looks from Saint Laurent’s Fall 2021 collection chosen by stylist Pedro Sales for both covers. Binx looks absolutely fierce while striking a pose in the middle of the desert on cover one (below) and on the alternative black and white cover (after the jump).

The majority of our forum members were thrilled with the outcome. “Oh, this is amazing!” heralded amby.

“One of the strongest September covers of Vogue this month! The first cover is sublime, full of drama, glamour, fashion and fantasy… The colors are just divine and the art direction complements the cover image,” raved vogue28.

“I’ve never been a huge fan of Binx, but the covers are great and so is the editorial!” confessed WAVES.

“I am always here for Binx and her work with Luigi & Iango on location is always quite good…” said Alien Sex Friend.

But not everyone felt the same way. “Her body looks weird, disproportionate. Seems it was Photoshopped to make her lower torso and legs appear abnormally long,” woemwoem pointed out.

“It looks very…artificial. I like it, but I don’t love it,” admitted aracic.

It’s safe to say that i-D is firmly back on our radar. It’s all thanks to Alastair McKimm and his impressive knack for appealing to different tastes with a multitude of covers. The cutting-edge British publication’s Spring 2021 offering had us tracking down a spectacular Naomi Campbell cover. Now i-D‘s Summer 2021 installment supplies even more collectible covers. This time featuring Gigi Hadid by Daniel Jackson, Precious Lee by Tyler Mitchell, Phil Foden by Alasdair McLellan, Celina Ralph by Mario Sorrenti, Jatavia Johnson (JT) and Caresha Brownlee (Yung Miami) of City Girls by Gray Sorrenti, Binx Walton by Stef Mitchell and Digga D by Liz Johnson Artur.

“Looks like she got something stuck in her eye,” said GERGIN upon seeing Gigi’s cover.

“How does Gigi have two i-D covers while Bella doesn’t have one and both of Gigi’s covers have either been bad or basic,” critiqued Ghesquiere32.

“I’m not quite sure where all this negativity is coming from. I for one enjoyed this story, the simple portraits bring out Gigi’s beauty and she looks great here. I always love a good black-and-white studio session,” raved aracic.

“Out of all the seven covers, Gigi Hadid’s is the one I like most — always been a Daniel Jackson fan, love the styling and the use of black and white. Gigi’s cover is guaranteed to grab your attention at the newsstand and pretty confident Precious Lee’s cover will do so also,” approved vogue28.

“I really like Precious’ cover, but that wink is reading more like a lazy eye from that far away. I think i-D should just stick with close-ups,” noted marsnoop2.

“Binx is looking so f*cking good,” proclaimed helmutnotdead.

It feels like an eternity since a cover of Vogue Italia managed to impress us. After all, our forum members regularly call out Emanuele Farneti on questionable choices for the once-loved Italian fashion bible. Now the magazine taps Kim Jones as guest editor with the designer putting out six covers for April 2021. Cover one features his friend and muse Demi Moore by Brett Lloyd. Stella Jones appears on cover two by David Sims and Natalia Vodianova looks elegant and regal on cover three by Paolo Roversi. For the fourth cover, Malika Louback, Amar Akway and Skarla Ali were snapped by Malick Bodian. Binx Walton and Selena Forrest cozy up on cover five by Miranda Barnes, while Adwoa Aboah poses for James Barnor on cover six.

But our forum members weren’t feeling Vogue Italia’s latest covers. “There are decent covers (Natalia, Demi and Malika’s), but the rest are rubbish. An utter humiliation,” declared MON.

“STOP WITH THE THEMES!” proclaimed A.D.C.

“So incoherent and everything seems like an advertorial…” called out YohjiAddict.

Fiercification was also underwhelmed: “Awful like always. At least Steven Meisel gave us some real fashion, beautiful models and color for April. What a difference five years or so make…”

“That cover of Natalia is gorgeous, but the layout ruins everything,” said Ken Doll Jenner.

“How could Vogue Italia think that ugly handwritten stuff is stylish and beautiful? It simply ruins the covers over and over again…” balmain1914 chimed in.

“I hate the disconnect between each of these covers, it looks like it could be half a year’s worth of issues because there’s no cohesiveness whatsoever,” voiced aracic.

You could argue that every month is a “creativity” issue where Vogue Italia is concerned. After all, Emanuele Farneti forces us to endure themed issues just about every month of the year. So far this year we’ve encountered The Everyday Issue and The Animal Issue. Now the Italian fashion bible joins all the other editions of Vogue by focusing on creativity for March. Craig McDean captures Binx Walton, Adut Akech, Julia Nobis, Sasha Pivovarova, Saskia de Brauw and Tao Okamoto wearing pieces from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2021 collection (selected by stylist Carlos Nazario) for the collage cover.

Vogue Italia’s latest sparked debate on our forums. “The bar is set so low that this becomes passable. One of their more decent covers. Imagine that,” said MON.

“Not as dreadful for Vogue Italia standards, at least they used professional models and photographers this time…” noted GERGIN.

SLFC was in the same frame of mind: “At least they got a good cast and production team this time and it could have been worse, but I just want it to end.”

“Nice images, but the collage is laughable. It’s like an edit you make when you get Photoshop for the first time,” Style Savvy pointed out.

“Compared to all the stuff they’ve done (animals, streets, kids’ drawings), it’s amazing. But actually it’s boring and uneventful. It’s so sad to look at this magazine today. I will throw a party the day Farneti and team leave,” proclaimed apple.

“It could be worse,” confessed JPineapple.

“This is actually pretty exciting. I don’t mind Craig McDean doing his thing. It already looks so much more promising compared to David Sims doing his thing for Vogue Paris,” mikel chimed in.

Glamour is always a good idea, especially during these times of uncertainty and Vogue Korea decided to deliver just that for October 2020. Over the last nine months, the Korean fashion bible’s covers featuring Rianne Van Rompaey, Bella Hadid and Hyun Ji Shin have thrilled us to no end and the title’s latest is no different. Binx Walton serves major face and body in the striking and downright stunning cover photograph shot by Luigi & Iango. Binx wears a black latex number from Saint Laurent’s Fall 2020 collection chosen by stylist Eunyoung Sohn for the shot that leaves us (almost) speechless.

The cover was just what our forum members were craving. “FASHION FINALLY. This exudes glamour! This is a Vogue cover,” applauded MON.

“LOVE this! So FASHIONABLE, it’s an exciting image: great clothes, cool pose, superb eye contact — there’s power coming from it. Great job Vogue Korea,” cheered Bertrando3.

Conventional photoshoots are back for the publication’s July/August 2020 offering with Ethan James Green returning for his second Italian Vogue cover shoot. Model Binx Walton dashes across the studio decked out in a look from Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2020 collection (selected by Carlos Nazario) in the joyous cover image.

The cover proved to be a hit with the majority of our forum members. “Whoa, I’ve just fallen immediately in love with this cover!” confessed Valentine27.

“An actual person on the cover? And my girl Binx? Doing something else than standing there? Wearing Nicolas Ghesquière’s Vuitton? Styled by Carlos? I’m about to have a heart attack!” raved Lola701.

Forum member vogue28 was also impressed: “Gotta hand it to Farneti on this because it’s the best Vogue Italia cover in months. The heart illustration and the use of the Louis Vuitton outfit don’t even bother me. A resounding thumbs-up from me!”

“Finally something good and fashionable from Vogue Italia! But I’m under no illusions: I believe this is a good exception in a sea of senseless and pretentious garbage. You know what they say…even a broken clock is right twice a day,” voiced apple.

“I feel like everyone is liking this cover because Vogue Italia extremely lowered their standards. For me it’s very basic when we compare it with any issue under Franca Sozzani. I’m happy for Binx, but I feel like someone else would bring much more life to this cover,” critiqued misszk.

Japan sure likes using model group shots on its covers. Since March, we’ve already encountered two. So we aren’t at all surprised to see the Japanese fashion bible give us a third multi-girl installment for August 2020. Captured by photographic duo Luigi & Iango (because who else?) with Anna Dello Russo on styling duties, Valerie Scherzinger, Binx Walton, Mika Schneider, Shay and Jill Kortleve strike poses dressed in head-to-toe Chanel from Virginie Viard’s Fall 2020 collection.

The cover immediately sparked debate on our forums. “Feels like a blah version of what they’ve done before. Happy for Mika and Binx looks really good, too. Nice to see Valerie, too,” commented Gina Fish.

“Considering the covers we’ve been getting the last few months, this can be considered a downright masterpiece,” praised MyNameIs.

“Mika and Shay look great, but the rest… Styling isn’t so hot either, but I’m a sucker for group cover shots and that’s why I love Vogue Japan. They produce lots of them every year for a while now,” declared Bertrando3.

“They love these kinds of covers, no? Meh. Same old, same old,” disapproved MON.

Sharing the same underwhelming sentiment was tipi1355: “Maybe it’s the makeup and editing or the identical non-expressions, but they somehow kind of all look like the same person copied and pasted with slightly different skin tones.”

Benn98 wasn’t impressed, either. “Only recognized Binx at first, I must say this is a really dull way to sell a new wave of models. Especially in an era where individuality is championed. They don’t look interesting at all.”

“A random cast for the cover and none of the girls complement each other. Shay, however, is the standout in the cover shot since she’s giving the most signs of life with her pose and expression,” noted vogue28.
