Subsequent to joining Gucci as creative director in early 2023, Sabato De Sarno has been unable to catch a break. Under the Italian designer’s direction (in addition to declining sales), the luxury Italian fashion house’s advertising campaign imagery has seen better days. Not even campaigns lensed by David Sims and Mario Sorrenti (often starring a bevy of fresh-faced talents) have sufficed. Umpteen campaigns later, there are zero signs of improvement with chapter one of the Gucci Gift 2024 campaign for the festive holiday season ahead. In an attempt to generate buzz, De Sarno brought back Kendall Jenner as the face of Gucci, who is joined by Jessica Chastain, Hiandra Martínez, Lineisy Montero, and Ni Ni. The cast poses for Anthony Seklaoui, with the campaign opening up in a tribute to The Savoy in London (a nod to the hotel where founder Guccio Gucci worked as a porter).

There’s something going on over at Vogue Russia and we certainly approve. Slowly but surely, Ksenia Solovieva appears to be propelling the Russian fashion bible to new heights. It’s safe to say that the magazine is firmly back on our radar. Appealing to our love of multi-model covers, the publication enlists photographer Christian MacDonald to capture Abby Champion, Cara Taylor, Hiandra Martinez, Selena Forrest and Ugbad Abdi for October 2021. The models are shot in a studio setting decked out in head-to-toe looks from Chanel’s Fall 2021 collection courtesy of stylist Patti Wilson.

The cover immediately caught the attention of our forum members. “I like it, I missed these kind of covers,” approved kokobombon.

Now Vogue Russia is delivering some relief, too. The publication created three utterly stunning May 2020 covers featuring Hiandra Martinez. Captured by Txema Yeste, the current face of Michael Kors is surrounded by nature for the three covers wearing looks from Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana along with Bottega Veneta and Bulgari accessories.

Once again the red carpet looks at MTV’s Video Music Awards were pretty tame, minus a snake here and there. Stars like Taylor Swift, Lizzo and Normani brought the sparkle, while Alison Brie, Hailee Steinfeld and Halsey played a little peekaboo. There were also plenty of models at the ceremony, some of them decked out in Fashion Trailblazer Award recipient Marc Jacobs’ most iconic designs.

Ever since Jeremy Scott took the reins at Moschino in 2013, his advertising campaigns have been nothing short of spectacular. Last season, we witnessed sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid coming together before the lens of master photographer Steven Meisel, but have both done a disappearing act for Fall 2017. Replacing the Hadids are models Slick Woods, Hiandra Martinez, Natalie Westling, Tamy Glauser and Mileshka, who each give it their all in Meisel’s studio with Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele on styling duties.

Slick’s campaign image (above) was the first to find its way onto our forums. “Why break a winning formula? Meisel continues to make Moschino appear expensive and covetable. Slick looks chic here captured by Steven,” commented zoom.

“Extremely random choice of model but it works!” confessed RedSmokeRise.

“I like it… it’s the styling that won me over. This girl is going to be major, it seems all the important people love her,” stated Zposen.

Also surprised at the outcome of the shoot was anlabe32. “Leave it to Meisel to take a classy photograph of a tacky girl for a tacky brand. Much better than last season’s mess,” she noted.

Gazebo most definitely liked what he saw: “Oh Meisel, you’re the best!”

“This is PHENOMENAL, I love everything about it. The composition, the cast, the decadence, Meisel at his finest,” declared an elated Riseup.

Lola701 shared the same sentiments. “Very beautiful! Glamorous, sophisticated with a vintage feel but oh so fun! Love it. A lot of things can be said about Scott’s collections but the Meisel collaboration is perfect!” she raved.
